Adaptive Reuse - Apartment Development

DW Architects were design lead from inception through to completion of this project.
Transforming a substantial building that was previously used as a B&B, but had become unfit for its original purpose, into a multi-unit development has breathed new life and utility into the property. This project aims to fulfil a pressing need within the local community by offering one-bedroom units for housing.

This once tired old redbrick was extended, renovated and divided to provide 5 one bedroom apartments, 3 of which are fully wheelchair accessible. DWA were engaged as Architects, PSDP and Project Managers on this project in Dublin 7 and worked closely with all stakeholders to realize the full potential of this building.

All 5 new apartments are BER 'A' rated with sustainable considerations such as community heating, low water usage furniture and Solar Photovoltaic panels creating electricity for the dwellings. They all enjoy the benefit of accessible communal gardens where residents can come together.
